What is the NASPP Annual Conference?

The NASPP Annual Conference is equity compensation’s premier event, bringing together professionals from public and private companies and the providers who support them. Attendees leave with practical insights, the latest regulatory updates, lasting peer connections, and new partners from the field’s largest expo hall.

Hosted by the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals (NASPP), the conference is open to anyone who works with equity compensation, regardless of NASPP membership. Now in its 35th year, it is the NASPP’s largest event of the year. The 2027 NASPP Annual Conference takes place September 21–24, 2027, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

How the Week Runs

The 2027 NASPP Annual Conference opens with an optional pre-conference day, followed by three days of conference sessions, wrapping up mid-day on Friday, September 24. See At a Glance for the day-by-day schedule.

Who Attends

The NASPP Annual Conference is designed for everyone who works with equity compensation, at public and private companies alike. Attendees come from organizations of every size and stage, from startups and pre-IPO companies to large public companies with global workforces. Their roles include:

  • Stock plan administrators and equity plan managers
  • Compensation, HR, total rewards, and benefits leaders
  • Finance, accounting, and tax teams
  • Legal and compliance professionals
  • C-suite executives involved in equity strategy
  • Advisors and service providers who support equity plans

What You'll Learn

Sessions cover the full range of equity compensation strategy, design, and practice, including stock options, RSUs, ESPPs, and performance awards. The full agenda will be published closer to the event, but topics typically include:

  • Plan administration: best practices, survey data and trends, measuring plan success, and participant education
  • Financial reporting: forecasting the effect of equity on the P&L, and managing plan cost and dilution
  • Private companies: cap table management, early exercises, double-trigger RSUs, and IPO preparation
  • Award design: performance awards, communicating the value of equity, and equity as a financial wellness benefit
  • Global equity: international tax compliance, country-specific regulatory updates, and global mobility
  • Legal and regulatory: SEC updates, proxy reporting, insider trading compliance, and restrictive covenants

How the Agenda Works

The conference combines several learning formats:

  • Hands-on learning labs and pre-conference sessions for building technical skills
  • Panels and small-group discussions built around real-world case studies and benchmarks
  • Power talks covering regulatory updates and emerging trends

Throughout the program, attendees learn how other companies are handling the same challenges they face, and they connect with peers they can turn to long after the conference ends.

Continuing Education

Attendees can earn CEP/ECA, CPE, and CLE continuing education credit, making the conference an efficient way for Certified Equity Professionals and Equity Compensation Associates to maintain their designations. Total credit hours will be published with the full program.

The Expo Hall

The NASPP Annual Conference hosts the field’s largest expo hall and its most comprehensive lineup of equity compensation partners. Attendees can meet equity plan administration platforms, brokers, financial services firms, legal and advisory firms, and other providers, all in one place. Companies interested in exhibiting or sponsoring can visit Become an Exhibition Partner or contact us.

Add-On Programs

Optional pre-conference programs, including a Proxy Disclosure Conference, are available, as well as the concurrent Executive Compensation Conference on September 22. Add-on programs for 2027 will be announced with the agenda.

For 35 years, the NASPP Annual Conference has been where the equity compensation community comes together.
